What to look for in a new stove or fireplace |
Ceramic Glass
Ceramic Glass is rated to a higher temperature. Some companies use Tempered Glass. Tempered Glass will actually "hold" more heat back leaving you in the cold. Ceramic Glass actually lets the heat pass through. |
 |
Heater Rated or Decorative Units
Some units are heater rated and some are decorative. Heater rated units can be hooked
up to a thermostat, decorative cannot. |
 |
Heat Circulating Units
Some units come with blowers others do not come with blowers. Blowers are obviously advantageous when trying to heat a larger area faster. There are two different kinds of
fireplaces, heat circulating and radiant.
Heat circulating actually circulates the air. |

Burn Technology
Some companies put a lot of time and money into developing a "realistic" looking flame pattern. Flame patterns are in Direct Vent
Fireplaces, others do not have this "burn
technology". |
 |
Mantels
There are many different types of mantels. Some fireplaces have different clearances to
the mantels. Although in most cases, if you can dream it up, we can do it! |
 |
Options
Each fireplace manufacture offers different options for their fireplaces. Some of these options are: remotes, trim kits (polished brass
or brushed stainless steel, bay fronts and
decorative doors). |
 |
Variable Valves
Almost every direct vent fireplace on the market has an adjustable valve. Some valves are fixed others will have a range of 20% to 50% "turn down".. |
